Rachmaninoff Vespers – Bucks Co. Choral Society – Doylestown (4 PM)

Brenten will be joining the Bucks County Choral Arts Society Chorus as they present Rachmaninoff All-Night Vigil (Vespers). Before he fled his homeland in the wake of the Russian Revolution, Rachmaninoff composed what would become one of the pinnacles of world choral literature. If you love Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos and symphonies, you will be surprised at how the long, winding phrases derived from ancient Slavonic chant resemble the familiar melodies of Rachmaninoff’s symphonic style. The choir will be adding additional low basses for the distinctive choral sonority of the Russian choir.
